Some Facts about ESTONIA

Hey, my name is Aili. I am 16 and live in Estonia. Estonia became an independent country in 1918. However, it was forcibly incorporated into the USSR in 1940. Estonia was never recognized by the US until it regained its freedom in 1991 when the Soviet Union collapsed. Estonia is located on the border of the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland (between Russia and Latvia). The climate is moderate winters and cool summers. If you were to come visit Estonia, don't come in the spring, because we are known for really bad flood. The land is marshy lowlands, flat land in the northern country and hills in the south. Some of our natural resources are oil shale, clay, limestone, sea mud, dolomite, and sand.
