Weather in Ireland

Today I thought I would give some more educational facts on the weather. Since weather is a big part when you travel if any of you are going to be traveling to Ireland then this should help as well.

We usually have a temperate climate or a maritme climate since we are so close to the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf Stream close by. Ireland is so green because it receives a lot of precipitation. Our typical winter weather is clouds and rain with the occasional sunny spell. The mountains may have snow on them for many weeks in winter, but falls on the lower ground on only a few days a year. Our typical summers include warm, sunny weather and a sky with fluffy clouds. All over the country the climate varies from place to place. The wettest weather always occurs in mountains and those areas to the east of the mountains. The dryest weather occurs east of areas where there are few mountains, such as the east coast. Dublin and Kildare enjoy the driest weather.

Today it is supposed to be cold this evening and tonight, with clear skys everywhere but scattered heavy showers also. Showers largely of rain or hail, but some snow showers possible (mainly on mountains).

Here are some pictures I took of it raining in Ireland. The second picture was one that I sold and as you can see was used for a postcard!
Fact Of The Day: In the 18th century, when the British banned Catholic schools, many Irish children attended secret classes held outdoors, known as “hedge schools.” There were no textbooks and the teachers taught from memory.

Recovery

It's going to take a little while for me to get back to my comfort zone, because I am not used to such cold temperatures, like I had to endure in Washington D.C. I'm used to coastal temperatures, like the ones on my country's beaches. I hope all of America is not that cold. Because, if it is you won't see me back for a while.

Entertainment

Hi. Elizabeth again! For the third time today, I have returned to fill you in on more facts about England. Many people wonder what we do for fun here in England. We have plenty of entertainment. From the nightlife, alot of younger people go to clubs and pubs. You can also choose theater, opera, ballet, concerts or the movies. Many other people prefer relaxational activities like sightseeing. We also have a few theme parks and major tourists attractions, like national parks. During free time, children enjoy playing and watching sports such as football, cricket, tennis and netball. They may also find interest in things like roller blading, mountain biking, bmx biking, karate, judo, tenpin bowling, computer games, play station games, and nintendo games. Other popular activities include watching television, playing computer games, cycling and skateboarding

Hey! So guess what happened last night? My 8 year old cousin lost a tooth! She was so excited. She threw it on the roof for good luck.
